Framing Nisbets' company history
A set of custom-made picture frames are telling the story of catering equipment firm Nisbets.
The made to measure frames display a collection of memorabilia at the company's National Catering Equipment Centre.
Creating a consistent look for an eclectic collection
We recently created a set of 46 bespoke picture frames for an innovation hub and showroom opened by Nisbets near Bristol.
Nisbets asked us to design a fresh way of showcasing a collection of 2D and 3D memorabilia.
The items of various sizes depict key moments in the company's proud history from the 1950s onwards. They had previously been framed in an assortment of different coloured and style of frames.
To give the new display coherence we created two styles of complementary frames. We chose a dark grey moulding for all the frames to bring visual consistency to the display. The shade of grey coordinates with the company’s interior colour scheme at the flagship building.
Hanging the display
We were also asked to hang the frames to display the objects as a timeline. We planned the display around existing alcove shelving and installed on site over two days. Meticulous planning means the story of the company unfolds as you browse from bottom left to top right.
History for all to see
Visitors, as well as staff, can now enjoy this eye-catching display of expertly framed items while learning more about Nisbets' success.
Sky Blue Director, Mike Ogden said:
"The display of framed memorabilia is a very effective way of showing Nisbets' history from humble Bristol roots to global retailer. We were delighted to re-frame such a fascinating collection of items for this prestigious new building."
